Volunteer of the Year
Established in 1994, our annual Cornerstone Celebration honors individuals and corporations for their support
of Goodwill and our efforts in changing lives through the power of work. The luncheon also spotlights graduates
of Goodwill’s job training and career development programs.
Because volunteers play such a vital role in helping fulfill Goodwill’s mission, we began to formally recognize volunteers in the year 2000 with the Individual Supporter of the Year Award. In 2003, the name of the award changed to the Cornerstone Volunteer of the Year. Pictured to the right is this year’s honoree, Mae Nelson,
General Manager at Hampton Inn & Suites – Pineville. She is our HELMS Volunteer of the Year for Helping Elevate Leadership and Meaningful Service at Goodwill!
