The GoodGuides Youth Mentoring Program matches committed, caring and supportive adults with youth ages 12-17, to empower them to make positive choices and enable them to maximize their current and future potential. Mentors are available to listen, support and guide their mentees while participating in educational, recreational and group activities.

Commitment
Mentors meet with their mentees a minimum of four hours per month for one year.

Types of Mentoring
The mentor provides one-on-one and/or group mentoring to assist youth develop career goals, prepare for school completion, and engage youth in a variety of career oriented activities.

The one-on-one mentor model works best with youth who have specific needs or unique interests. The mentor and youth connect and develop a genuine friendship which is essential to individual mentoring. Group mentors enjoy the dynamics of working with a group of 3-4 youth at one time. Group mentors facilitate discussion around academic achievement, self-esteem, and goal-setting and life skills.
