A 5-day program taught by a registered ServSafe instructor that provides instruction to reduce the risk of foodborne illness breakouts by teaching science-based information on how to run a safe establishment.
ServSafe is the premiere program recognized by more federal, state and local health jurisdictions than any other program, and provides valuable certification for food service employees
The program covers the flow of food from the time you purchase your products until the meals reach your customers’ tables, including such topics as microorganisms that cause foodborne-illness breakouts, proper food storage, cleaning and sanitizing.
All classes and the examination are held at Goodwill’s Gaston County Job Connection, where all participants can utilize the resources of Job Connection including job placement assistance
Goodwill will also come on-site to provide training to your restaurant staff. Restaurants can receive a two-point bonus on their health inspection if one employee has passed the ServSafe examination.
The ServSafe program is approved for WIA funding for Gaston County residents.
