Charlotte Checkers fans got a firsthand look at the great clothing for sale at Goodwill stores on Saturday, March 13. The sold-out crowd at Time Warner Cable Arena got a glimpse at affordable fashion during a break in the hockey action, when Goodwill mascot Smiling G and the CheckMates dance team walked the runway—on the ice.

“The fashion show was so much fun!” said Sarah, one of the CheckMates. “I picked out a really cool outfit from Goodwill and got to strut my stuff on the red carpet runway as a golfer.”

Checkers supporters were also generous with their donations of gently-used items; donors received vouchers that they can redeem for free tickets to upcoming Checkers games in addition to donation receipts for their tax-deductible donations to Goodwill.
