The Post-Donation Process

After a computer is donated to Goodwill, it is evaluated by technicians in Goodwill’s E-Cycling Training Program.

Hard drive drilled to destroy data. All systems cleaned of stored information according to US Department of Defense specifications.
Useable parts removed & sold at Computer Works Store. Newer systems or component parts are sold at Computer Works.
Drilled hard drives and inoperable parts sold to vendors for environmentally safe disposal. Older systems are de-manufactured in Goodwill’s E-cycling Training Program and used to upfit other systems or sold as parts at Computer Works.
Verification of final disposition on file at Computer Works. Systems not sold in Computer Works are sold to vendors.
