Business Advisory Council

A support system of Business Advisory Council members and industry volunteers provides trainees with real-life experiences, networking skills, technical supervision and evaluation. Goodwill needs volunteers to fulfill a number of vital roles:

BUSINESS ADVISORY COUNCIL COMMITTEES

Selection and Placement Committees

  • The Selection Committee: Responsible for trainee selection criteria including education, experience, tests to be used and minimum acceptable scores.  Review application packages and interview candidates to make final selection of students.

  • The Placement Committee: Assists in identifying and securing job sites for qualified trainees.  Helps train trainees in job seeking skills by conducting mock interviews, helping prepare work resumes, guide trainees in business conduct, dress, etc.

Curriculum and Evaluation Committees

  • The Curriculum Committee: Prescribes the course content to ensure that trainees are presented the appropriate subject matter.  Helps to develop suitable curriculum, course schedule, training materials and necessary training equipment.  Review and update curriculum periodically.

  • The Evaluation Committee: Reviews the status and progress of each trainee at the mid-point of the nine weeks training course.  Determine if each trainee is qualified to enter the next phase of training and graduate.  Deficiencies in the instruction or training course are to be identified and necessary corrective action taken.
